Processor

A processor, or microprocessor, is a small chip that resides in computers and other electronic devices. Its basic job is to receive input and provide the appropriate output. Most desktop computers contain a CPU developed by either Intel or AMD, both of which use the x86 processor architecture and most of smartphones contain a CPU developed by Snapdragon, MediaTek and Kirin and apple’s A series processors.

Types of processor

There are five type of general-purpose processor they are, Microcontroller, Microprocessor, Embedded processor, DSP and Media processor.

Purpose of processor

The purpose of a computer processor is to do the actual computation done by the computer, which includes managing the computer’s memory, handling input from users, sending them output and doing whatever calculations are necessary.
