HDD and SSD are types of storage used in computers. They both have there own advantages and disadvantages. Lets see what are the advantages and disadvantages of both and which should you prefer.
HDD ( Hard Disk Drive )

Advantages:
• This is a old technology, so its available easily for common people.
• This is available in huge capacities like 6TB and 8TB, and is available easily.
• This is a lot cheaper compared to SSD
• Files which is corrupted can be recovered easily.
Disadvantages
• They have moving particles in it, so it has its own risk.
• This occupies more space compared to SSD.
• This gets damaged if it gets a shock.
• Read and write speeds are around 100MBps, which is very less compared to SSD.
• Booting time takes 40sec.
• Files in it will be corrupted very easily and early compared to SSD.
SSD ( Solid State Drive )

Advantages
• They dont have any moving particles, so possibilities of damage is lesser than HDD.
• They have faster storage speed compared to HDD which is around 500MBps.
• They take less space compared to HDD.
• Booting time just 20sec, which is faster compared HDD.
• Files in it is safer for a longer time and dont corrupt so easily compared to HDD.
Disadvantages
• This is a newer technology, so its not available in the market so easily for a common person.
• This is not available in huge capacities.
• This is a lot costlier compared to HDD.
• Files which is corrupted cannot be recovered easily.
Our opinion
Both of them have there own advantages and disadvantages. But SSD seem’s to be a better option in terms performance and productivity. If you can afford costlier SSD’s, then it can be a better choice.
