These both are one of the most popular phones arround 40k to 50k. Samsung unvealed Samsung S20 FE with the specs which fans are interested in to keep the cost low. On the other hand OnePlus 8T is the new flagship killer from OnePlus. It brings some cool specs. Lets see how they both compare.
Display & Design
Samsung has plastic back, on the other hand OnePlus has a glass back, but doesn’t feel as premium as OnePlus 8. If you always use phone with a case, then no need to worry. On the front, both have flat 120Hz good quality punch hole display’s. Samsung have little less bezels compared to OnePlus.
Processor
Samsung S20 FE packs Exynos 990, which is a flagship processor from Samsung. On the other hand OnePlus 8T packs powerful Snapdragon 865. When compared, OnePlus 8T has a better and faster chipset, but in casual use both are same. If you need phone for casual usage, then both will perform almost the same.
Camera
Samsung has 12MP + 8MP + 12MP triple rear camera setup to the rear and 32MP selfie camera. OnePlus has 48MP + 16MP + 5MP + 2MP quad camera to the rear and 16MP selfie camera. In terms of general photography, Samsung S20 FE takes too good photos and videos compared to Oneplus. Samsung also includes 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom which is missing in OnePlus. But OnePlus has macro and depth camera’s which are not used much. If you need a phone with better camera’s, then Samsung is definitely a better option. But if u need a macro camera, then OnePlus have it.
Battery
Both Samsung S20 FE and OnePlus 8T packs 4500 mah battery, but in terms of charging Samsung supports 25W charging but include only 15W charger in the box. OnePlus has 65W charging and its provided in the box. If you need a smartphone with too fast charging, then OnePlus 8T is one of the best you can find. If you need a smartphone with safe charging, then S20 FE feels better. But all depends on your personal preference.
Software
Both have their own software skins on top of Android. Samsung has OneUI 2.5 on top of Android 10 which is feature rich and looks cool. On the other hand, OnePlus has oxygen os 11 on top of Android 11, which is one of the best skins in Android and its also close to Stock Android. Samsung has advantage 8n terms of security, it packs Knox security which is hardware based and samsung started providing this security in different segments, which is really important.
Pricing
8GB + 128GB is the base varient of both these smartphones. Samsung S20 FE is starting at a price of 49,999 and on the other hand Oneplus 8T is starting at 42,999. That is a price difference of 7k.
Our opinion
If you need a better looking smartphone with better camera’s, display, feature rich software and Samsung branding and if you can invest 7k more compared to OnePlus 8T, then you can choose Samsung S20 FE. But if you need a smartphone with better processor, best charging, better close to stock software and a 7k lesser price, then OnePlus 8T can be a better choice. Choose wisely because finally its your money.
