Some smartphone brands these days are launching multiple smartphones and are filling up the market with multiple options. Instead of launching limited smartphones with great specs and value , they end up launching almost identical smartphones one after the other.
Some brands also launch smartphones with eye catchy features which are not up to the mark, most of the experience is spoilt
Users just get attracted by aggressive price and buy phones of random brands like some chinese brands, where they just price their device agressively, but don’t give proper service and a clean user experience.
• Performance

Some brands just launch smartphone with powerful processors, but they don’t optimize their devices or they just perform good for limited time and end up getting slower from software updates which intentionally makes your devices slower , so you feel that you would need an upgrade.
•Display

Nowadays most mid-range devices have started coming with higher refresh rates , but to cut down cost they use IPS LCD panels instead of Amoled Panels. Amoled Panels have the best quality in terms of colours, contrast, deep blacks, overall they make media consumption enjoyable. Amoled displays have their own advantages say the always on display or support for Indisplay fingerprint sensors. We personally prefer 60hz amoled anyday over 120hz Ips panels.
• Camera

Recently, smartphone industry had a revolutionary change in the camera department in terms of megapixels and also with multiple cameras in a smartphone. Some brands give some sensors like depth and macro, which don’t have any major use. Starting with 48MP ,smartphones are moving towards 108+MP cameras. They just attract users with those megapixels. What you should instead look for is the type of sensor used and the optimization of the camera module. The clear example is that apple’s 12MP photos come better than most higher MP cameras today because apple’s optimization is damn good.
• Battery

Smartphones these days are competing in having better charging speeds. Many brands give lesser battery capacity, but give better charging speed. Brands should also focus on giving the best battery backup, because it’s more important than having faster charging speeds.
Our opinion
Users should not fall for aggressive pricing by brands, instead cross check if the brand provides proper services and a good software experience. Most Chinese manufacturers cut down their cost by earning from ads which pops up on your screen and spoils user experience. Don’t fall for the higher refresh rate marketing trick, check for the type of display used, mostly go with amoled if possible. Smartphone companies should start improving in terms of camera optimization and provide atleast 3 decent cameras. instead of increasing camera count with depth and macro sensors. Provide a good primary camera with an ultrawide lens and a decent telephoto lens. Watch out for ads and pre-installed bloatware, Privacy can be another issue with most Chinese companies, so try to stick to stock android if possible. At the end of the day , just be careful on spending your hard earned money and stay safe.
